It tells the story of an individual who, in pursuit of a certain status or fame, abandons or severs their true self — or distances themselves from their own identity in order to attain a certain standing, ultimately leading to a loss of self. The protagonist, Salomé, as a merman, obsessively chases after a human identity. He takes extreme actions to cut ties with his merman nature, only to end up perishing in the sea.
