When is the next edition of the festival scheduled?
The next edition of MONSTRA, consisting of 11 days of non-stop animation, will take place from 11 to 21 March 2027, with Greece and Cyprus as the Invited Countries.

What are the main venues for MONSTRA?
The festival takes place throughout the city of Lisbon. The most central location, where most of the events and film screenings related to the competitions take place, is Cinema São Jorge, on Avenida da Liberdade. We also have screenings at the Cinemateca Portuguesa and Cinema City in Alvalade.

I am a filmmaker. What do I need to do to submit my film?

Once submissions for the festival’s various competitions are open, simply fill out the film submission form for the category that best fits your work.

Can I submit more than one film?

Yes. However, you must submit a separate entry and fill out an Authorization Form for each film.
