When is the next edition of the festival scheduled?
The next edition of MONSTRA, consisting of 11 days of non-stop animation, will take place from 12 to 22 March 2026.

What are the main venues for MONSTRA?
The festival takes place throughout the city of Lisbon. The most central location, where most of the events and film screenings related to the competitions take place, is Cinema São Jorge, on Avenida da Liberdade. We also have screenings at the Cinemateca Portuguesa and Cinema City in Alvalade.

Are the training sessions, exhibitions and other parallel activities free to attend?

In the case of training sessions – Workshops, Talks and Masterclasses – prior registration is required to secure a place, by contacting formacao@monstrafestival.com. You can find the full Industry programme here.

How much do tickets for the film screenings cost?

The price of each ticket varies depending on the venue where the screening takes place. Full ticket office information can be found on this page.

Where can I buy tickets?
Online ticket offices are now open, and tickets can be purchased through BOL for screenings at Cinema São Jorge and Cinemateca Portuguesa, and on the Cinema City Alvalade website for screenings at this venue. Tickets are also available at any of the partner venues hosting MONSTRA and MONSTRINHA Pais e Filhos screenings.
