Submissions – Call for Entries MONSTRA 2027

You can now submit your animation film to MONSTRA | Lisbon Animation Festival, that will take place from March 11 to 21 2027. In 2026 around 3,500 films were submitted with 239 films selected, which were then shown to more than 40,000 spectators. 

The full list of our competitive sections can be found below. Films must contain an animated sequence that accounts for at least 60% of the film’s total running time.

Animations from all backgrounds and techniques are welcome!

Vasco Granja Competition

•  Portuguese Short Films 

Entries for the Short Film Competition for Children and Young People (MONSTRINHA) and the international competitive sections run until October 11, 2026. Filmmakers with selected films will be notified by email by January 2027.

Entries for the Vasco Granja Competition are open until December 11, 2026.
