In a festival where the best of world animation is represented in each film and in each section, Portuguese animation, recognized as one of the most prominent in Europe and the world, is naturally one of MONSTRA’s highlights. The Vasco Granja Portuguese Film Competition started in 2010 and every year it cements itself as one of the festival’s pillars, reflecting the vitality and diversity of national animation, with regular presence in the international competitions, MONSTRINHA and many retrospectives as well.
