MONSTRA | Lisbon Animation Festival has established itself as a leading platform for networking and strategic partnerships. Taking advantage of Latvia’s prominence as this edition’s invited country, we are promoting an unprecedented meeting between producers and directors from Ibero-American and Baltic countries. The aim is to build bridges between two creative ecosystems with similar production scales and economic realities, whose collaborative potential remains untapped. More than just a gathering, this Meeting is a call to action: a space for dialogue and the exchange of ideas, as well as facilitating the development of future co-productions between two regions that are rich in talent and tradition.

MONSTRA Summit is an annual forum dedicated to exploring the key challenges facing the animation industry in Portugal and worldwide, bringing together creators, producers and programmers. In a context of increasing technical and financial demands, international co-production has become a vital strategy for the sustainability and growth of the animation sector. This year’s edition will be entirely dedicated to this theme, encouraging discussion around new collaboration models and strategies for strengthening partnerships with Portugal. Open to national and international industry professionals attending MONSTRA 2026, the session aims to share experiences and pave the way for new creative alliances. More than just a debate, MONSTRA Summit serves as a starting point for building lasting partnerships between Portugal and the rest of the world.
Portuguese animation is currently enjoying significant international recognition, expanding in terms of scale, quality, and creativity. At the 25th edition of MONSTRA, we are once again presenting new projects currently in development across Portuguese studios to audiences, producers, and programmers. This is an opportunity to discover, firsthand, the films that will soon premiere at MONSTRA and around the world, promising to win over new audiences. This Panel is therefore one of the highlights of the 2026 program.
