You can now submit your animation film to MONSTRA | Lisbon Animation Festival, that will take place from March 12 to 22, 2026!
In 2025, around 3,000 films were submitted with 220 films selected, which were then shown to more than 42,000 spectators.
This year MONSTRA has a new section dedicated to long short films. If you have an animated film between 15 and 40 minutes long, you can now submit your film to the festival.
The full list of our competitive sections can be found below. Films must contain an animated sequence that accounts for at least 60% of the film’s total running time.
Animations from all backgrounds and techniques are welcome!

Entries for the Short Film Competition for Children and Young People (MONSTRINHA) and the international competitive sections run until October 12, 2025. Filmmakers with selected films will be notified by email by January 2026.
Entries for the Vasco Granja Competition are open until December 12, 2025.
