Invisible Places

Invisible Places Installation
25 to 30 March 2025 | 10am to 5pm
‘Invisible Places’ is an interactive installation by composer Carlos Caires that invites participants to awaken and manipulate an immersive sound system through the movements of their hands, creating an engaging dialogue with projections of light, images and sounds.
Initiated as part of the symposium ‘Culture and Sustainability: DME 2020 Project’, in this iteration of the work, specially prepared for MONSTRA and the National Museum of Natural History and Science, the installation has gained new features that expand interactivity and the audiovisual experience, in a unique fusion of sound, light and movement that challenges the limits of perception.
Using a combination of sounds created by the composer and others from the museum’s own nature sound bank, the audiovisual experience also includes a lighting system designed by a group of students from BAU, Barcelona’s University Centre for Arts and Design, as part of a partnership with the Catalan festival Punto y Raya.
