'Wanna Be Basquiat' is an experimental short film directed by João Pombeiro for the track by Surma. Utilizing a complex 3D digital collage technique, the film employs hundreds of vintage archive clippings to construct an abstract narrative on industrial development and American suburbia. Awarded internationally, the work explores the tension between the collective imaginary of a "promising future" and the reality of urban exhaustion.
