From the birth until it is cast aside a rocking chair takes part in every aspect of a Québec family's life, putting up good-naturedly with all the children's whims, in this big family. It ends up by "getting the boot" into a snowbank. But the city has its eye on county things. They're building a museum of modern art. The chair, rescued, becomes the seat of the guard, and the star attraction of children visiting the museum with their parents. But when night comes, it begins to relive its past.
