Cinema São Jorge
Since its opening, on February 23, 1950, Cinema São Jorge has been declared as one of the most emblematic movie theaters in the Portuguese capital, integrating its cultural itinerary and being part of the Lisbons´s imagination.
Cinema City Alvalade
Opened in January 2009, Cinema City Alvalade marks the difference by comfort and warmth, in a renaissance ambience. Independent and discreet, more vocation to the author cinema, is located in the old Cinema Alvalade, Av. de Roma nº100, in Lisbon. It has 4 luxurious rooms and a total of 389 seats.
At Rua do Loreto, near Largo Camões, on the confluence of Baixa/Chiado with Bairro Alto and Bica, there is still a movie theatre – the oldest in Lisbon. Opened since 1904, it has known several designations over the years – Salão Ideal, Cinema Ideal, Cine Camões e Cine Paraíso. It is a cinema theatre whose last big remodulation took place in the 50s, but still retains all the charm of a “neighborhood cinema”, with its foyer, balcony and audience. This place will now go through a deep work of renovation and recovery, architecture and projection equipment of image and sound. It is a work that will give rise to a new space of cultural and urban animation.
