For four consecutive years, MONSTRA On the Loose has taken the festival to several Portuguese cities, as well as to the five continents. This project aims to share an important part of the MONSTRA festival with the audiences outside of Lisbon, allowing them to also interact with the best works on this area produced on a worldwide level.

The festival’s nationwide and worldwide nature aims both to start the habit of watching and electing works rarely seen on screen, coming from different cultures and showcasing different aesthetics. By doing so, we are creating new audiences, with more extensive and diverse perspectives, and they also start engaging in the art of selecting what they like the most, since there is an award from the audience in every city where the MONSTRA goes on the loose.

Hence, we bring a place for dialogue, exchange and gathering, and particularly for trial and transgression, to other destinations, encouraging reflection on different forms of art, cultures, methods and viewpoints.
