Once again across borders, MONSTRA takes place in January in Arras!
MONSTRA – Film Festival D’Animation of Lisbonne In Arras, takes place on 18-19 / 22- 24 January at the Casino Room in Arras and at the Isabelle de Hainaut Room in Baupaume, already going to its 7th edition.
This is one of the several MONSTRA’s international itineraries, after the recent one in Brazil (São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro) – then in Germany (Augsburg) – and 3 weeks ago in Cuba. MONSTRA packs up now to the north of France. An initiative noticed in Arras – from 300 spectators 5 years ago for 5000 spectators… Earning the recognition from entities that promote cultural activities in the region.
Thus, MONSTRA brings the best of world animation to Arras, presenting a program always adapted from the annual edition, held first in Lisbon. An intense and unique program this year that includes workshops, talks and some of the best animated films shown at MONSTRA in 2017. The highlights for this edition in Arras are Portuguese and international films, awarded at the 17th edition; and an Italian cinematography selection – honored country in this edition as well.
The opening session on January 19 at the Casino de Arras will be attended by Fernando Galrito, Artistic Director of MONSTRA, and by Andrea Martignoni, renowned sound designer and composer for numerous animated films.
